Salaam Remi has together an all-star roster to perform a cover of Syl Johnson’s 1969 song “Is It Because I’m Black?” It contains Black Thought, Cee-Lo Green, Anthony Hamilton, Stephen Marley, and Syleena Johnson on vocals.

“I consider this song to be one of the finest songs of the previous century, and I’m delighted to be able to raise awareness of it since its message is so powerful, and the people of the globe need need it right now,” Salaam says.

The song will come on Remi’s upcoming Black on Purpose album, which will be released in August and will include Nas, Jennifer Hudson, Teedra Moses, Bilal, Busta Rhymes, Doug E Fresh, Chronixx, and others.
