The People’s Champ CD by Flee Lord just came out, and now the famous Pete Rock is back with something on the dolo. And he’s bringing a full band rather than sampling like we’re used to hearing.

His track “Say It Again” showcases this rhythm, which combines elements of jazz, funk, and soul. Prepare yourself for the release of his upcoming Petestrumentals 3 album on December 11.

“A lot of this album sounds like samples extracted from records. We dress it up and add definition to what it is. It’s Hip-Hop, but have you ever heard Pete Rock not sample anything or work with a band? It’s exciting. I’m a musician, whether I’m sampling or not. Music is music; it’s what I think about it all day, every day.”
