Nas and 21 Savage’s ‘One Mic, One Gun’ single is Escobar’s surprise release as a bonus cut on King’s Disease 3 with Hit-Boy. For years, we’ve witnessed poor communication and interaction between the hip-hop OGs and the Young Kings.

This was clear earlier this month, when 21 Savage made problematic remarks about Nas’s relevance in today’s rap atmosphere. While many anticipated the iconic Queensbridge rapper to behave defensively, Escobar demonstrated to the rest of rap how to be the greater person in such a situation.

Outside of a few prominent collaborations in recent years, the highly elite OGs like Nas and the young have rarely cooperated. Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction in terms of seeing this happen more frequently, so that it does not happen to contemporary musicians in the future.
