Daystar Peterson), 30, shot her in the foot in 2020. “To any woman, especially one of color, who has endured an injustice, I sympathize for you,” he wrote on Instagram. “to anybody with a daughter, sister, mother, niece, or aunt… I pray for their safety… I pray for their shielding… This is not something I would wish on anyone.”

He went on to say earlier in the lengthy essay that one’s “entire background” will be “held under a magnifying lens.” “In an instance, you may move from victim to defendant in the eyes of the public,” the musician continued. Although he did not name Megan, he appeared to be talking to his girlfriend, who testified in Tory’s trial on December 13. “When you do find the bravery to speak up.. it appears you will be ridiculed.. your credibility will [sic] be questioned,” the 32-year-old continued.

The declaration by Pardi comes on the same day as jury deliberations for the trial begin on December 22. They will reconvene on December 23 to discuss the three felony charges brought against the “Say It” rapper.

The jury began deliberations less than a week after the 27-year-old testified in court in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, Megan testified through tears and said she wished Tory “would’ve simply killed” her. “If he knew I’d have to go through this, I wish he’d just murdered me,” the hitmaker remarked. Megan later informed the court that she was not feeling well. “I just don’t feel good,” she explained to Rolling Stone. “I can’t believe I’m supposed to come up here and do this.”

Prosecutors reportedly began their opening statements on December 13 by claiming that the claimed rounds left “three bullet fragments in Megan’s foot,” according to Buzzfeed News. They also stated that the fight between the two rappers began when “Megan attacked his musical abilities.” Furthermore, the Associated Press said that Megan needed surgery to remove gunshot fragments from her feet following the purported incident. Tory is charged with three counts: discharging a firearm with gross carelessness, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and transporting a loaded, unlicensed firearm in a vehicle. Tory, who has pleaded not guilty, faces up to 22 years in prison, as well as deportation. Since October 26, 2022, he has been under home arrest.
